Shahi Tukda - a delicacy of the Nawabs

Ingredients : Portion - 8-10

  • Bread roundels/triangles – 10 no
  • Sugar- 1kg
  • Water – 500 gm
  • Milk- 2 kg
  • Oil-1 kg
  • Saffron (with water)- ½ gm
  • Pistachio- 25 gm
  • Almonds- 25 gm
  • Honey -50 ml

Method of Preparation

  • Cut the bread slices into round shape with a round cutter or triangles
  • Heat oil in a pan and crispy fry the sliced bread.
  • Prepare sugar syrup by combining water and sugar
  • Dip the bread into the syrup.
  • Boil the milk till it reduces to ¼ quantity , till it gets rabri consistency.
  • Place the sliced bread on a plate and spread rabri on top.
  • Garnish with silver leaf, chopped nuts and drizzle with saffron water and honey.
